NAB clarifies Bahria Town residents’ properties are not at risk amid ongoing investigations
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has officially confirmed that Bahria Town residents’ properties and investments remain protected despite the bureau’s ongoing legal proceedings against the housing society. NAB strongly rejected social media claims suggesting potential loss of resident-owned properties, labeling these narratives as part of a “deep conspiracy” by opportunistic groups aiming to purchase assets at unfairly low prices.
According to NAB, their action targets only Bahria Town’s own holdings and does not extend to homes or investments owned by individual residents. The bureau called on residents to carry on with their daily lives confidently, assuring full protection of their property rights.
NAB reaffirmed its determination to continue legal measures, including the auctioning of Bahria Town assets linked to a £190 million reference involving former PTI chairman Imran Khan and others. These auctions are being carried out to recover dues as per the terms of a court-approved plea bargain.
This statement provides reassurance to Bahria Town’s residents amid growing uncertainty caused by misinformation circulating online. NAB assured that the legal process will proceed without compromise, focusing on recovering embezzled funds while ensuring innocent property owners are not affected.
