Rawalpindi Development Authority cracks down on dengue SOP violations, seals 7 buildings
Rawalpindi – In a targeted anti-dengue operation, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) sealed seven buildings on Girja Road on Friday for violating prevention guidelines and building regulations.
According to officials, five completed buildings failed to comply with dengue SOPs and were immediately sealed to minimize the risk of mosquito breeding. Additionally, two under-construction sites were shut down due to missing safety protocols and absence of NOCs.
The crackdown was carried out under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021. The RDA clarified that illegal constructions without approvals pose health hazards and will not be tolerated.
The operation followed directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who instructed zero tolerance against encroachments and unapproved development projects.
RDA has called on property owners and developers to respect building rules, adhere to dengue SOPs, and help maintain a safe, dengue-free environment in Rawalpindi.
