High-speed diesel price cut by Rs12.84 per litre; petrol rates remain unchanged

The federal government has announced a major reduction in fuel prices for the upcoming fortnight. High-speed diesel will drop by Rs12.84 per litre, taking the price to Rs272.99 per litre, effective August 16, 2025.

Kerosene prices have been lowered by Rs7.19 per litre to Rs178.27, and light diesel oil (LDO) rates have decreased by Rs8.20 to Rs162.37. Petrol prices, however, remain unchanged.

The price adjustment aligns with predictions from Optimus Capital Management, referencing OGRA data, which indicated a substantial decrease in petroleum prices for the fortnight beginning August 16, 2025.

In the previous review, petrol prices had been reduced by Rs7.54 per litre to Rs264.61, while high-speed diesel saw a minor hike of Rs1.48, reaching Rs285.83 per litre.
