QUETTA: Balochistan’s Minister for Education, Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani, has praised the distribution of digital tablets in educational institutions across the province, calling it a noteworthy initiative in the digital era.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) office on Friday, Durrani commended the BRSP for its significant contributions to Balochistan’s development. She highlighted the BRSP’s role in enhancing various sectors of life within the province.
During the event, 2,079 digital tablets were distributed among teachers in government schools, provincial education department institutions, PPIU, and project staff under the Social and Community Welfare (SCW) programme. This initiative received support from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Rural Support Programme Network (RSPN).
The BRSP is actively implementing the Education for Children and Women (ECW) programme in Loralai, Panjgur, and Kohlu districts. This programme aims to restore and enhance educational facilities for over 42,000 local and Afghan refugee children, including providing teacher training and vocational programmes for students.
BRSP CEO Tahir Rashid emphasized the importance of improving education and health sectors in the province. He affirmed BRSP’s commitment to collaborating with the Balochistan government and other institutions to address regional challenges and advance development.
