Times World Rankings 2024: More Pakistani Universities Make the Cut

The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2024 have seen a notable increase in the representation of Pakistani universities. This year, a total of thirty-nine Pakistani universities have secured rankings, marking a significant rise from the previous year’s tally of twenty-nine institutions.

Leading the pack among Pakistani universities is Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad, securing a spot in the 401-500 ranking range. Following closely behind are Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Air University, Capital University of Science and Technology (CUST), COMSATS University Islamabad, UET Taxila, GC University Faisalabad, and NUST, all of which have garnered rankings in the 601-800 range.

In the 801-1000 rankings, we find Bahria University, International Islamic University Islamabad, Islamia College Peshawar, University of Lahore, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), University of Malakand, University of Management and Technology, University of the Punjab, Institute of Space Technology, and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.

Furthermore, sixteen universities from Pakistan have secured rankings in the 1201-1500 range, while four institutions have been listed in the 1501+ category in the World University Rankings.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that forty-nine Pakistani universities have received the designation of “reporter,” signifying that they submitted the necessary data but did not meet the eligibility criteria for a formal ranking.
