Threads is getting an edit button

Meta Introduces Edit Button and ‘Voice Threads’ to Threads, the X Competitor

Meta is set to enhance its Threads platform with the introduction of an edit button and ‘Voice Threads.’ According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the edit feature allows users to make changes to their posts within five minutes of publishing, and unlike X, it’s free to use.

Edited posts will display a small icon, but there won’t be a visible edit history for revision. This update follows Twitter’s introduction of an edit feature for its premium subscription in October 2022, just before Elon Musk’s takeover.

In addition, the new ‘Voice Threads’ feature enables users to create voice posts, complete with automatic transcriptions. Users can simply tap the microphone icon to start recording a post, which will be accompanied by a highlighted transcript of the content.

Meta has been actively expanding its Threads platform since its summer launch, offering users a chronological following feed, web client, and a search bar for posts.
