The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has moved against the unauthorized marketing of Capital Smart City Phase-III, an unapproved housing scheme promoted near the Thallian Interchange on M-2 Motorway.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate issued a show-cause notice to Future Development Holding Pvt. Ltd. following directives from RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza.
In a public advisory, the DG cautioned citizens against investing in unapproved housing projects and urged them to verify the status of any scheme before making financial commitments. She warned the scheme’s sponsors to stop all social media marketing immediately and to seek proper NOC/approval from the RDA. Otherwise, the authority would initiate strict legal measures.
The RDA has also escalated the matter to multiple agencies, including NAB Rawalpindi, FIA Islamabad, Cyber Crime Wing, SNGPL, and local government offices, highlighting the spread of misleading advertisements on WhatsApp, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
To ensure urban planning compliance, the DG has instructed the MP&TE Directorate to continue a zero-tolerance policy against illegal housing schemes, unauthorized booking offices, and encroachments.
