The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed that it will host a historic T20I tri-nation series featuring Afghanistan and Sri Lanka from November 17 to 29, 2025. This will be the first-ever T20I tri-series staged in Pakistan, marking a significant milestone for the country’s cricket calendar.
The tournament will serve as crucial preparation for all three sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
A historic first for Pakistan and Afghanistan
The tri-series begins on November 17 in Rawalpindi with Pakistan taking on Afghanistan. The match will be especially historic as it will be Afghanistan’s first T20I appearance on Pakistani soil. Afghanistan have previously played five ODIs in Pakistan, most recently against Australia during February’s ICC Champions Trophy, but this will mark a new chapter in their cricket journey.
Rawalpindi will also host the Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan clash on November 19, before the action shifts to Lahore. The iconic Gaddafi Stadium will stage the remaining fixtures, including the grand final on November 29.
Packed cricketing season in Pakistan
The tri-series comes on the heels of a busy October–November schedule for Pakistan cricket. Before the three-nation contest, Pakistan will host South Africa for a full series comprising two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs from October 12 to November 8.
