NAB Files New Toshakhana Reference Against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a fresh reference in the Toshakhana case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The reference, submitted to an accountability court in Islamabad, is currently under scrutiny by the Registrar’s Office. The case stems from an investigation conducted by NAB officials at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were questioned.

This action follows a recent court decision that remanded the couple into judicial custody for alleged misuse of gifts received from foreign dignitaries during their time in office. Previously, the couple was acquitted in the Iddat case on July 13, but their relief was short-lived as the NAB arrested them in connection with the new Toshakhana reference. The couple is accused of purchasing a jewelry set from the Toshakhana and subsequently selling it, with the set valued at Rs75 million.
