Karachi police bust spy ring allegedly working for India’s RAW

In a dramatic late-night raid in Karachi’s Quaidabad area, police arrested four men accused of spying for India’s intelligence agency, RAW. The suspects, authorities say, weren’t just gathering information—they were allegedly tracking sensitive military sites and CPEC-related projects.

The four men—Guloo, Akhtar, Jaman, and Akash—had been under surveillance for a while. According to SSP Shoaib Memon, the main guy, Muhammad Khan (aka Guloo), had been in contact with someone pretty high up in India’s Border Security Force since way back in 2009. The contact, referred to in their phones as “Boss,” turned out to be an Indian colonel.

Police say these guys were sending photos, troop movement data, and location info through WhatsApp using geo-tagging software. They even had a Pakistan Army training manual on them. If that wasn’t enough, officers also found grenades, rifles, pistols, and a car reportedly stolen from a citizen.

The group apparently traveled to India by sea from Sujawal and were paid in cash, booze, and cigarettes for their work. The authorities believe the information they were passing on could’ve been used for a major terror attack, though they say it’s too early to draw final conclusions.

For now, their phones are undergoing forensic checks, and more arrests could follow as the network is unraveled. Legal proceedings under anti-national laws have already begun.
