Emphasis on Export Growth: Baku aims to increase shipments of goods to Pakistan and is exploring investment opportunities

Baku: Azernews reports that Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov held a meeting with Bilal Haye, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, the minister provided detailed information to the meeting attendees about the state support for Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector. It was highlighted that bilateral cooperation between the two countries is progressing dynamically. Both parties expressed interest in broadening cooperation within the agricultural sector.

Discussions during the meeting covered various aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in agriculture, including the enhancement of the legal framework, increasing trade turnover of agricultural products, sharing modern agricultural technologies, strengthening collaboration in areas such as cotton and rice farming, animal husbandry, and implementing experimental programs in scientific research and education within the agricultural sector.

The focal point of the meeting revolved around the export of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Pakistan and exploring support mechanisms for this endeavor.

Minister Mammadov emphasized the significance of the annual “Caspian Agro” exhibition hosted in Azerbaijan and encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs to actively participate in it. He also urged them to consider investment opportunities in Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector, given the favorable business environment.

Additionally, discussions covered the activities of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Working Group on agriculture and food security, where a wide range of views on mutual interests were exchanged.
