BARCELONA: The Consulate General of Pakistan in Barcelona hosted a community event to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, bringing together members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora along with community leaders, academics, and representatives of civil society.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem of Pakistan. A documentary was then screened, highlighting the historic significance of Marka-e-Haq and paying tribute to the bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.

A large number of participants from different segments of the Pakistani community attended the event and expressed strong support for the occasion. The enthusiastic presence of Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates added a vibrant and diverse atmosphere, reflecting their deep connection with their homeland.
During their speeches, representatives of various Pakistani community associations in Barcelona praised the role of Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership during Marka-e-Haq. They described it as a defining moment in the country’s history that demonstrated national unity and Pakistan’s unwavering determination to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The speakers also reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. They stressed that lasting peace and stability in South Asia are closely linked to a peaceful resolution of the issue in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional and global peace, the speakers highlighted the country’s constructive diplomatic efforts to promote stability in the Middle East. They noted that Pakistan remained in continuous contact with key regional leaders and relevant stakeholders following recent attacks and tensions involving Iran and the United States, urging restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation.
According to the speakers, Pakistan’s sustained mediation and peace efforts played a positive role in facilitating a ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, while diplomatic engagement continues to achieve a durable and lasting peace. They reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to play a responsible and proactive role in promoting peace, cooperation, and harmony across the region.

In his closing remarks, the Consul General of Pakistan in Barcelona said that Marka-e-Haq reflected Pakistan’s maturity, restraint, and firm commitment to preserving peace with dignity. He underscored Pakistan’s support for regional peace, multilateralism, and international law, while emphasizing that the country possesses the full capability to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression.
The Consul General also appreciated the active participation and unwavering support of the Pakistani-Spanish and Kashmiri communities in promoting Pakistan’s perspective abroad and strengthening the country’s image internationally.
The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s continued progress, prosperity, and security.
