Shoppers in Pakistan will soon lose access to budget-friendly shipping options on AliExpress, as the online retail giant responds to new customs tax measures introduced by authorities in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
AliExpress informed its sellers that starting July 7, 2025, it will stop processing shipments to Pakistan using popular low-cost services like AliExpress Standard Shipping and Cainiao. These services, once a major reason for the platform’s popularity, allowed Pakistanis to buy items from China at minimal shipping costs.
According to the company, the change is due to unclear customs regulations that have complicated the handling of cross-border logistics. Although the details of the tax reforms haven’t been shared publicly, the result is a significant reduction in delivery choices for Pakistani consumers.
The crackdown on discounted shipping is part of a larger push by customs officials to improve revenue collection and prevent tax evasion on imported goods. But e-commerce sellers now worry the policy may drive customers away and stall online retail growth.
AliExpress has encouraged sellers to stay updated and adjust their logistics settings accordingly. At present, there is no official word on when or if cheaper delivery options will return.
