Pakistan Air Force lands in UK for RIAT 2025, to display JF-17 Block-III fighter jets

LONDON – A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent has reached the Royal Air Force Base Fairford in the UK to participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, one of the world’s largest military aviation shows, the military’s media wing announced Thursday.

Key highlights of PAF’s participation

  • Aircraft featured:

    • JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighters with AESA radar and BVR weapons

    • A specially painted C-130 Hercules transport plane

  • Long-range operation:

    • Aircraft completed air-to-air refuelling mid-flight with a PAF IL-78 aerial tanker

    • Showcased PAF’s long-range power projection capability

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the JF-17 Block-III represents a 4.5-generation multi-role combat platform, capable of undertaking a variety of missions to address modern-day security challenges.

In line with RIAT’s tradition of themed displays, the C-130 Hercules has been adorned with exclusive artwork titled “Eyes in the Skies”, symbolizing vigilance, situational awareness, and technological innovation.

“This captivating design is expected to be one of the star attractions at the airshow, reflecting PAF’s operational legacy and artistic creativity,” the ISPR statement read.
