The University of Karachi (KU) has revealed plans to introduce a new four-year BS degree program within the Department of Mass Communications.
As per the declaration by KU’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, the institution will initiate admissions for the BS Digital Media Marketing program starting the academic year of 2024.
This announcement took place during an event held at the Sarwar Naseem Hall of the Department of Mass Communication. Dr. Iraqi emphasized the significance of Digital Media Marketing, expressing that it stands as an excellent course option for young individuals.
Additionally, he highlighted various degree programs recently launched by the university, including BS in Poultry Science, BS in Public Health, BS in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BS in Medical Laboratory Technology, and BS in Sports Business Management introduced this year.
Recognizing the importance of BS Digital Media Marketing, the university will allow graduates to enroll in the BS DMM program, akin to students who have completed their intermediate education.
Chairperson of the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Asmat Ara, mentioned that KU proudly stands as the first public sector university to offer this particular degree.
At the ceremony, other speakers like President of Digital Marketing Association Pakistan, Dr. Asif Iqbal, and Head of Digital Output at Geo Pakistan, Manzar Ilahi, also underscored the significance of digital media marketing.
