46 betting and forex apps banned in Pakistan over financial and data security risks

ISLAMABAD – The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has declared 46 gambling, forex, and binary trading apps illegal across Pakistan, citing risks to financial security and data privacy.

The crackdown targets some of the most popular betting platforms, including 1xBet, Aviator Games, Dafabet, 22Bet, Casumo, Rabona, 10Cric, Plinko, and Bet365. Authorities said these apps were promoting gambling and unregulated money transfers while bypassing national financial regulations.

NCCIA officials further revealed that many unregulated forex and binary trading apps were also on the banned list. They warned these platforms often lead to fraudulent schemes, illegal remittances, and exploitation of unsuspecting users.

Alarmingly, the list also includes apps that unlawfully collect personal information such as SIM data and mobile numbers. Officials cautioned that such apps could expose users to identity theft, fraud, and misuse of private data.

The NCCIA has requested the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to immediately block these apps nationwide. Citizens have been advised to exercise caution and avoid engaging with suspicious apps that may endanger their financial and personal security.
