Young Pakistani Artists Invited to Apply for Arjumand Painting Award 2025 — Cash Prizes Worth Rs. 950,000

ISLAMABAD – Gallery 6 Islamabad is calling on young painters from across Pakistan to showcase their talent in the 6th Arjumand Painting Award (APA), the country’s first private-gallery-initiated national art prize.

Launched in 2015, APA aims to celebrate originality and excellence among emerging Pakistani painters, offering substantial cash rewards, national visibility, and career-building opportunities.

This year’s cash prizes total Rs. 950,000, distributed as:

  • First Prize: Rs. 400,000

  • Second Prize: Rs. 300,000

  • Third Prize: Rs. 200,000

  • Merit Award: Rs. 50,000

In addition to prize money, selected artists may receive residencies, exhibitions, and promotional opportunities in Pakistan and abroad.


Eligibility & Submission Details

  • Open to artists aged 20–45, residing in Pakistan.

  • Each applicant may submit one original painting, created in 2024 or 2025.

  • Digitally/mechanically produced works or drawings are not eligible.

  • Submission deadline: 26 September 2025 via email.

Over the years, APA has gained a strong reputation for transparency and credibility, attracting entries from across the country and launching the careers of many emerging artists.

Renowned artist R.M. Naeem praised APA as “a commendable step toward recognizing and nurturing Pakistani art.” Art critic Aasim Akhtar called it “a promising event that guides young artists and gives them the respect they deserve.” Durriya Kazi, former professor at the University of Karachi, highlighted its importance in supporting artists in a rapidly globalizing art world.
