Setting up a petrol pump in Punjab now takes just 15 days under new online NOC system

The Punjab government has revolutionized the petrol pump approval process, making it significantly faster and easier for investors and entrepreneurs to enter the fuel retail sector.

Thanks to the new system, applicants now only need to secure a single NOC online through the LDA NOC portal—eliminating the hassle of dealing with multiple departments such as TEPA, LDA, Civil Defense, Rescue 1122, Traffic Police, and more.

The Deputy Commissioner is bound to respond within 15 days of receiving an application, either granting or rejecting it. In case of rejection, the decision must be backed by clear reasons, ensuring transparency and accountability. This marks a drastic improvement over the older process, which could take six to twelve months and required numerous follow-ups.

In addition to simplifying the workflow, the government has also reduced the paperwork. Only six essential documents are now needed—down from sixteen. The land requirement remains at a minimum of two kanals with an 80-foot frontage.

These reforms were proposed by the Industries Department and approved during a recent cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The overhaul aims to cut red tape, attract investment, and modernize fuel infrastructure across the province.

Entrepreneurs can now apply from the comfort of their homes, saving time, money, and frustration.
