Wang Yi to visit Islamabad for 6th Pakistan-China strategic dialogue with Dar

ISLAMABAD – China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Communist Party’s Politburo, will co-chair the 6th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad on August 21 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The Foreign Office described the dialogue as an important step in deepening the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” Discussions will focus on economic cooperation, trade, security, and reaffirming mutual support on core national interests, along with a joint commitment to regional peace and development.

The visit comes shortly after Pakistan and China concluded the 10th round of consultations on arms control, non-proliferation, and disarmament in Beijing on August 18.

Ahead of Wang Yi’s arrival, Ishaq Dar engaged in a busy round of meetings in London with political leaders, the Commonwealth, and the Pakistani community.
