A passenger coaster traveling from Rawalakot to Rawalpindi plunged into a deep ravine near Pana Pul, Azaad Pattan, resulting in the deaths of 30 people, officials reported on Sunday.
Rescue teams were quickly dispatched to the accident site to retrieve bodies and assist the injured, who remain trapped in the wreckage. Sardar Abdul Waheed, Commissioner of Poonch Division, confirmed that the accident occurred near Pana Pul, between Azaad Pattan and Kahuta. Deputy Commissioner Sadhanoti, Umar Farooq, stated that the deceased include children, women, and men, all of whom were from the Sadhanoti district.

In a separate incident earlier today, a bus carrying pilgrims from Iran plunged into a ravine on the Makran Coastal Highway near Buzi Luk, resulting in the deaths of 10 people. According to Edhi rescue sources, 23 others were injured and swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bus, en route from Iran, reportedly experienced brake failure before veering off the highway.
Rescue teams arrived promptly to assist the injured and recover the deceased, who are said to be from Lahore and Gujranwala.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the Lasbela incident and extended her condolences to the grieving families.
