Pakistan Army foils infiltration attempt, kills 33 terrorists near Afghan border in Zhob
In a decisive counter-terrorism action, Pakistan’s security forces have killed 33 terrorists attempting to cross into the country from Afghanistan’s side of the border. The clash took place in Sambaza, Zhob District of Balochistan, late on the night of August 7–8, according to an official statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The terrorists, belonging to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khawarij, were detected through timely intelligence. Security forces quickly mobilised to intercept the heavily armed group, engaging them in a firefight that resulted in all 33 being eliminated.
ISPR confirmed that a large stockpile of arms, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. The military emphasised its unwavering resolve to defend Pakistan’s borders and root out terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the operation, saluting the courage of the troops involved. He reiterated that the Pakistani nation fully supports its armed forces in the fight against extremism and vowed that his government will continue efforts to ensure lasting peace across the country.
