Ethiopian Ambassador, TDAP Chief Discuss Trade Boost Ahead of Pakistan-Africa Conference

KARACHI: Ethiopia and Pakistan are set to expand their trade and economic cooperation, as Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula met with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Secretary Sheryar Taj in Karachi.

Their discussions centered on strengthening bilateral commerce, with a key focus on the 5th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference & Single Country Exhibition (PATDC & SCE), scheduled for October 2025 in Addis Ababa.

Ambassador Dr. Jemal said Ethiopia is fully prepared to welcome Pakistani entrepreneurs and investors, offering them access to emerging markets and promising opportunities in East Africa.

Secretary Sheryar Taj highlighted the overwhelming enthusiasm from Pakistan’s business sector, confirming a strong lineup of participants for the event.

Also present was H.E. Ibrahim K Tawab, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi, who reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy with Pakistan.

The upcoming conference is expected to enhance Pakistan-Africa trade relations, creating a bridge for new investment ventures, technology exchange, and market expansion.
