Educate the Youth on the History of Kashmiri Martyrs: Khadija Zareen Khan

Muzaffarabad: Chairperson of KZK Foundation, Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan, has emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation about the history of Kashmiri martyrs. She stated that the purpose of commemorating national and state days such as Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, Jammu Martyrs’ Day, Pakistan Accession Day, Azad Kashmir Foundation Day, Pakistan Day, and Independence Day is not merely to enjoy a holiday but to raise awareness among the nation, especially the youth, about the significance of these days. She called on the government, educational institutions, and prominent members of society to play their roles in this endeavor. Ms. Khan expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs’ Day.

Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan highlighted that the 22 Kashmiris who sacrificed their lives on July 13, 1931, in front of Srinagar Jail while completing the call to prayer (Azan) set an unparalleled example in Islamic history. It was this spirit of the Kashmiris that further strengthened the Two-Nation Theory. Both Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal foresaw that coexistence with Hindus was not possible due to our distinct religious traditions, values, manners, and customs. The struggle of Kashmiris against Dogra oppression is historic; they endured severe torture but did not compromise their principles.

Ms. Khadija Zareen Khan further stated that freedom is a blessing, and we have achieved it. Now, it is time to educate our younger generation about the great sacrifices and struggles that made it possible, so they can understand these values and work to preserve them.
