COAS Acknowledges Women’s Vital Role in Pakistan’s Advancement during KPK Women Symposium – 2023

Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir NI (M) paid a significant visit to Peshawar on Wednesday, engaging in an enlightening session with the esteemed women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the ‘KPK Women Symposium – 2023.’ The COAS also participated in a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee, joined by Caretaker Chief Minister KP, Muhammad Azam Khan, as stated in a press release by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During his address at the women’s symposium, COAS emphasized the pivotal and enduring role that women have played in Pakistan’s progress throughout the nation’s history. He underscored the quintessential importance of women’s contributions to Pakistan’s development and advancement.

Acknowledging the unique challenges faced by the women of KPK due to the prolonged fight against terrorism, COAS commended their resilience, unwavering commitment, and bravery in the face of adversity. He encouraged women to actively participate in the progress and development of KPK and the Newly Merged Districts.

During the Apex Committee meeting, COAS received a comprehensive briefing on the overall security situation, including initiatives against smuggling, hoarding, and drug trafficking. The participants in the meeting expressed their unity in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, paying heartfelt tribute to the Shuhada (martyrs) and their families.

In conclusion, COAS reiterated the need to synergize efforts for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan. He affirmed Pakistan Army’s commitment to playing a vital role in ensuring peace and stability in KPK, thus creating a secure environment conducive to economic development.
