CDA clarifies F-9 Park project: only cricket ground upgrade, no stadium construction

Islamabad — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has clarified that the ongoing work in F-9 Park does not involve building a new cricket stadium, countering speculation circulating online.

Officials explained that the project only focuses on upgrading the existing cricket ground to international standards, aiming to improve playing conditions and facilities for citizens.

Addressing environmental concerns, CDA emphasized that the natural landscape of F-9 Park is fully protected. No trees or green belts will be removed; instead, additional landscaping and turf improvements are included to enhance the park’s outlook.

The authority further assured that family recreational areas and children’s play spaces remain unaffected. The park will continue to be open and accessible during construction and after completion.

CDA underlined that the development is intended to provide Islamabad residents with modern cricketing facilities without compromising the park’s recreational framework or green identity.

Reiterating its stance, the authority said it remains committed to balancing infrastructure development with environmental preservation in the federal capital.
