One of the highlights of my trip was a trek to the Bilamik Valley, a hidden gem nestled amidst the Karakoram Mountains. The valley offered breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush meadows, and crystal-clear streams. As we hiked through the valley, we encountered diverse flora and fauna, including rare species of birds and wildflowers.

Beyond the Bilamik Valley, Skardu offers a variety of attractions for eco-tourists. Visitors can explore the Shigar Valley, home to the ancient Shigar Fort and the stunning Braldu Glacier. For adventure seekers, trekking, mountaineering, and white-water rafting opportunities abound in the surrounding areas.

Skardu’s rich cultural heritage is equally captivating. The region is home to a diverse population, including Balti, Shigar, and Chogo people, each with their own unique customs and traditions. Visitors can explore traditional villages, learn about local crafts, and savor delicious local cuisine.

My eco-tourism adventure in Skardu was more than just a vacation; it was a transformative experience. I learned about the importance of environmental conservation, connected with local communities, and gained a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. As I reflect on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to have explored such a remarkable region.
