ISLAMABAD: August 1, 2025 — Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market continues to evolve with the official launch of the Omoda E5, a fully electric SUV brought by Chery in collaboration with NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group. The latest model promises a balance of affordability, modern design, and practical range—positioning it as one of the country’s most budget-friendly EV SUVs in its class.
Compact yet stylish SUV with bold exterior upgrades
With dimensions of 4,424 mm in length, 1,830 mm width, and 1,588 mm height, the Omoda E5 is built to offer a compact yet spacious experience. It sits on a 2,630 mm wheelbase, making it well-suited for both city traffic and long-distance drives.
The exterior showcases full LED lighting, including sequential rear turn signals and cornering front fog lights. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and comes with a sunroof, roof rails, dual spoilers, puddle lamps, and power-adjustable heated side mirrors—a design clearly geared toward modern, tech-savvy drivers.
Smart and comfortable interior with dual screens
Inside, the E5 is equipped with dual 12.3-inch digital screens—one for the driver’s instrument cluster and the other for multimedia. The Sony 8-speaker sound system supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth, while a 50W wireless charger and multiple USB-A and USB-C ports keep devices powered.
Both front seats are electrically adjustable, ventilated, and finished in premium synthetic leather. The rear seats split 60:40, and passengers enjoy rear AC vents, multicolor ambient lighting, and ample storage including cup holders and map pockets.
Performance: Powerful motor with impressive range
The E5 is driven by a 150 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering 204 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque to the front wheels. It features three drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Its 61 kWh LiFePO4 battery offers a claimed range of 430 km (WLTP) and up to 505 km (NEDC). Charging is made convenient with the charging port cleverly placed in the front grille, allowing for easier plug-in access.
Loaded with safety features
Safety remains a priority with six airbags, ABS, ESP, Multi-Collision Braking, EBD, BAS, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It also includes front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a 360-degree surround-view system.
Security is enhanced through passive keyless entry, a burglar alarm, walk-away auto-lock, and engine immobilizer.
Booking and delivery details
The Omoda E5 FWD variant, powered by the 61 kWh battery, is priced at Rs 8,990,000. Bookings are now open with a Rs 1,700,000 deposit, and deliveries are expected within approximately 2.5 months.
