Chery and Nishat launch Jaecoo J6 electric SUV in Pakistan, prices start at Rs 8.79 million

In a major step forward for Pakistan’s electric vehicle sector, Chery International, in collaboration with Hyundai Nishat’s NextGen Auto, has officially launched the Jaecoo J6 Electric SUV, the first retail product of their five-month-old partnership.

Following Chery’s strategic shift away from Ghandhara Automotive in early 2025, the alliance with NextGen Auto is now bearing fruit, as the brand brings its Jaecoo and Omoda NEV (New Energy Vehicle) lineups to the local market.

The Jaecoo J6 offers three variants:

  • RWD Comfort (49.9 kWh, 329 km range)

  • RWD Luxury (65.6 kWh, 462 km range)

  • AWD Premium (69.7 kWh, 418 km range, 279 hp)

Performance ranges from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds for base trims to 6.5 seconds for the top-end AWD variant. All three support 6.6 kW AC and 80 kW DC fast charging.

Exterior highlights include matrix adaptive LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, power-folding heated mirrors, and NFC key access. Inside, the J6 offers high-end comforts such as massage and ventilated seats, 12-speaker Infinity audio, a 12-inch cluster, remote A/C start, and wireless phone charging with “forget alert”.

On the safety and ADAS front, it boasts features like AEB, LDW, BSD, lane keep assist, driver drowsiness warning, 360° cameras, and multiple drive modes including Eco, Sport, and off-road options like Muddy and Beach.

Pricing (Ex-Factory Pakistan):

  • Comfort RWD – Rs 8,799,000

  • Luxury RWD – Rs 9,899,000

  • Premium AWD – Rs 10,799,000

With this launch, Chery and Nishat aim to compete in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving EV space, where local assembly, government incentives, and rising consumer interest are setting the stage for long-term growth.
