KP introduces flood relief app for direct bank transfers to affected families

In a major step toward digital governance, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched the Digital Disaster Compensation Management app, enabling direct cash transfers to families hit by floods.

The initiative, unveiled by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, was built by the KP Information Technology Board (KPITB) and is linked with the government’s “Dastak” service platform.

The app streamlines relief operations by making the process paperless and cashless. Families can file damage claims online, while geo-tagging verification ensures authenticity and prevents false submissions. Senior officials, including the Chief Minister, can monitor progress through a live dashboard that tracks compensation and damages across districts.

To ensure accountability, all transactions will pass through a special PDMA fund account, with every payment logged for transparency. Government leaders have also contributed: the CM donated his one-month salary, cabinet ministers 15 days, MPAs seven days, senior officers two days, and junior staff one day’s salary.

Relief efforts are already underway, with emergency camps set up in Buner and other flood-affected areas. Cash support is being prioritized over food packages, allowing families to purchase essentials as per their needs. Beneficiaries will be verified via NADRA records before funds are released.

The service can be accessed through the KP Super App on iOS, while Android users can use KPITB’s Digital Assessment Platform (primarily for survey teams). Updated access links are also available on the official KPITB portal.
