Who is set to captain the Quetta Gladiators: Riley Russo, Saud Shakeel, or Sarfaraz Ahmed

Quetta Gladiators, a prominent franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), is contemplating a leadership change after Sarfaraz Ahmed’s eight-year tenure as captain.

According to reports, the team management is weighing Rilee Rossouw and Saud Shakeel as potential candidates to replace Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain.

Sarfaraz Ahmed has led Quetta Gladiators remarkably for nearly a decade. However, with changes in the team’s performance dynamics, the management is exploring new leadership options to rejuvenate the squad.

Shane Watson, the head coach of Quetta Gladiators, is actively involved in the decision-making process regarding the new captain. While Rilee Rossouw and Saud Shakeel are emerging as leading contenders, the final decision rests with the team’s coaching staff and management.

Interestingly, the management has also considered retaining Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain while appointing Saud Shakeel as vice-captain. This strategic approach suggests the team’s readiness to explore different leadership combinations to enhance performance and adapt to evolving challenges in the upcoming PSL season.
