Vietnam celebrates 80th National Day in Islamabad with cultural showcase and strengthened Pakistan ties
Islamabad: The Embassy of Vietnam in Pakistan hosted a grand reception to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, bringing together nearly 500 dignitaries, including senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academics, media professionals, and the Vietnamese community.
In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan reflected on his country’s historic journey since President Ho Chi Minh’s Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945, and highlighted Vietnam’s progress in nation-building and development. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s vision of becoming a modern industrial nation in the near future, stressing that strong partnerships would play a vital role in achieving this goal.
The Ambassador noted that Pakistan remains one of Vietnam’s most valued and dynamic partners, expressing confidence that both countries will continue working together toward a shared future of peace, innovation, and prosperity.
Pakistan’s State Minister for Finance, Bilal Azhar Kayani, attended the event as chief guest and spoke about the growing strength of Pakistan-Vietnam relations.
The ceremony also featured a documentary showcasing Vietnam’s achievements over the past eight decades, followed by a lively cultural program. Guests enjoyed an elegant ao dai fashion show, traditional dance performances, and an authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine. The evening concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting, where the Vietnamese Ambassador was joined by the chief guest and ASEAN ambassadors.
