A Sargodha anti-terrorism court (ATC) has handed down a 10-year jail sentence to Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, Member of National Assembly Mohammad Ahmed Chattha, and several PTI activists.
The verdict relates to a vandalism case in Mianwali, part of the widespread May 9 unrest following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan. Bhachar was not present when the judgment was announced.
The May 9 riots caused significant political damage to PTI, with protesters targeting sensitive military sites, including GHQ Rawalpindi.
