Prince William may soon step into the role of King as concerns over King Charles’ health continue to grow. According to recent reports, the 75-year-old monarch has become increasingly frail while undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.
Royal insiders told Radar Online that Charles has been relying on a walking stick, not as a ceremonial accessory but as a medical necessity to help him move around. “His health has deteriorated significantly in recent months. The cane is no longer for tradition — it’s essential,” one insider revealed.
Another source claimed that the King is privately struggling with pain and despair, sometimes turning to whisky to cope. Still, he continues reassuring those around him that he is “doing fine,” despite visible signs of decline.
Buckingham Palace had confirmed his cancer diagnosis in February 2024, leaving the world stunned. Since then, the monarch has reduced his workload and is increasingly depending on his son, Prince William, and daughter-in-law, Princess Catherine, to take on senior royal duties.
Observers note this shift as a deliberate preparation for the monarchy’s future. William and Kate are gradually stepping into the spotlight, signaling the possibility that their reign as King and Queen may arrive sooner than expected.
