PDWP allocates Rs 1.5 billion for restoration of religious sites

During its 19th meeting, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved Rs 96 billion for key development projects, including the preservation of gurdwaras, churches, and temples across the province.

A total of Rs 1.5 billion has been set aside for the protection and renovation of religious sites, demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s diverse cultural and spiritual heritage.

The PDWP also sanctioned Rs 22.47 billion to upgrade sewage systems and floodwater drainage in areas including Khanewal, Kamunki, Vehari, and Wazirabad. Meanwhile, Rs 72 billion has been earmarked for establishing model villages in major cities such as Lahore, D.G. Khan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, and Sahiwal. These initiatives aim to improve urban infrastructure and residents’ quality of life.

Dr. Naeem Rauf, PDWP Chairman, along with Secretary Rafaqat Ali and other officials, reviewed and approved the proposed projects to ensure efficient implementation and timely completion.
