Pakistan and Ethiopia strengthen air force cooperation with high-level meeting in Islamabad

Islamabad: A high-level bilateral meeting was held at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, between Lieutenant General H.E. Yilma Merdassa, Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, and Air Chief Marshal H.E. Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.

The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral and multilateral cooperation for international peace and security, climate action, and equitable sustainable development at the global level.

The visit of the Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force marks a significant step in strengthening Pakistan–Ethiopia relations, reflecting growing cooperation across defense and other sectors.

Expressing appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the Pakistan Air Force, the Ethiopian delegation reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to advancing its brotherly and friendly ties with Pakistan.

Both countries emphasized their shared vision of promoting regional stability, peace, and sustainable development while further deepening defense collaboration.
