Overseas Pakistanis are our pride, solving their issues is PML-N’s top priority: Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal
Barcelona, Spain – Former Minister of State Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal has said that overseas Pakistanis are the nation’s pride, and resolving their problems remains a top priority for the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz).
He expressed these views while addressing a warm reception hosted in his honor at Cordoba Restaurant, Barcelona, by Wajid Sohail of Noor Jamal. The event was attended by a large number of community leaders, businessmen, youth, and respected guests from the Pakistani diaspora.
Speaking at the gathering, Jaffar Iqbal praised the sacrifices of overseas Pakistanis, noting that their hard work has earned respect not only for Pakistan but also in their host countries. He emphasized that PML-N’s leadership has always taken expatriate concerns seriously and implemented practical measures for their welfare.
He added that Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shehbaz Sharif have consistently prioritized public welfare and national development, with overseas communities holding a special place in the party’s policies.
Addressing the youth, Jaffar Iqbal advised them to adopt hard work and honesty as guiding principles, preserve their values, and maintain strong ties within the community. “Sometimes dreams demand personal sacrifices,” he said. “Always respect the host country, stay committed to self-respect, positive thinking, and dignity while working with dedication.”
Highlighting the sacrifices made by families to send their children abroad, he recalled how many parents sold land, livestock, or jewelry to support their loved ones’ pursuit of a better future. “These sacrifices should never be forgotten,” he remarked.
He further stressed the importance of community service, stating that life is not only about earning a livelihood but also about giving time to others. “Respect for time is the key to success,” he noted, expressing hope that Pakistan would one day enjoy strong systems in transport, healthcare, and education, just like Europe.
At the conclusion of the event, Jaffar Iqbal reaffirmed that PML-N will continue to safeguard the rights of overseas Pakistanis and work for solutions to their issues. Community leaders also shared their thoughts and presented flowers and gifts to the guest of honor. The event ended in a warm atmosphere with prayers and words of gratitude.
