Pakistan’s dynamic squash duo, Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal, are on fire at the Asian Doubles Squash Championship — and fans have every reason to cheer!
On June 24, the pair easily brushed aside Chinese Taipei’s Chi Yu-Wei and Chen Ching-Fu, winning 11–2, 11–9 in just 11 minutes to top Group B without a hiccup. Earlier in the group stage, they dismantled South Korea 11–4, 11–1, then outclassed the Philippines 11–7, 11–4.
Their flawless performance has locked them in for the quarterfinals, where they’re set for a showdown with South Korea again — this time in the knockout stage. If they keep up this form, a place in the finals on June 26 is well within reach.
Pakistan’s contingent, under the watchful eyes of coach Fahim Gul and manager Amir Nawaz, is hungry to bring home the title from Kuching. With Zaman and Iqbal leading the charge, squash fans back home are hopeful for more big wins in the coming days.
