Monsoon to Intensify from July 28 – Heavy Rains Expected Across Pakistan

More rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in several parts of Pakistan as the monsoon system gains strength, the Met Office warned on Thursday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that weak monsoon currents are already affecting northern and central Pakistan, and a fresh westerly wave will approach on July 29, causing widespread rain spells until July 31.
Where Will It Rain?

Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan:
Heavy rainfall is expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, and Shigar from July 27-31 with occasional gaps. -
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
From July 28-31, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, and Waziristan will see rain-wind-thundershowers with isolated heavy downpours. -
Punjab & Islamabad:
Rain with scattered heavyfalls is forecast in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Sargodha between July 28-31.
Southern Punjab areas like Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur are expected to get rain from July 29-31. -
Balochistan:
Northeastern and southern districts including Quetta, Khuzdar, Loralai, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, and Ziarat will receive moderate to heavy showers from July 29 night till July 31. -
Sindh:
Mostly hot and humid weather will persist, but Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur, Larkana, and Sukkur will likely experience rain on July 30-31.
Possible Impacts
The PMD has warned of flash floods in hill torrents, landslides in northern regions, and waterlogging in low-lying urban areas. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures.
