Modification of seating arrangements between PML-N and Jahangir Tareen’s party

As preparations intensify for the upcoming elections set for February 8, 2024, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has forged another political alliance with the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) led by Jahangir Tareen.

According to Geo News, a significant political event unfolded subsequent to a gathering between PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and IPP’s patron-in-chief Tareen on Thursday at Shehbaz Sharif’s residence in Model Town, Lahore. Present at the meeting were PML-N members Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, and IPP’s Awn Chaudhry. The discussions primarily focused on the prevailing political landscape in the nation and explored potential collaborations for adjusting seat allocations in the forthcoming general elections.

Sources revealed that both parties have reached an agreement on seat adjustments for the polls scheduled on February 8. However, specifics regarding the exact number of seats will be settled during subsequent meetings, as per a source.

This development follows a political understanding between the PML-N and the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), marked by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif’s visit to the residence of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Lahore after a span of 15 years.
