Islamabad CDA Seals Offices of Illegal Housing Societies, Issues Strict Warning

ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an aggressive operation against illegal housing societies, sealing offices and canceling permits of multiple unauthorized schemes.

The decision came after a high-level review meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting evaluated ongoing actions against encroachments and unauthorized developments across the capital.

The CDA confirmed that housing societies initiating construction or plot bookings without approved layout plans and NOCs are being penalized. Several societies have already faced office closures and cancellation of permits, with more action expected in the coming weeks.

To enhance transparency, the authority has updated its official list of legal and illegal housing societies on its website, urging citizens to verify project status before making investments. It also issued a strong warning to construction material suppliers not to facilitate illegal developments.

“The protection of investors and the integrity of Islamabad’s master plan is our utmost priority,” Randhawa stated, emphasizing zero tolerance against those violating planning laws.

Residents and potential buyers are being encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious or unauthorized housing activities to CDA’s Planning Wing.

This crackdown is part of a wider initiative ordered by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to curb fraudulent property schemes and maintain Islamabad’s planned urban growth.
