Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s book “Medemer Generation” translated into Urdu in Pakistan

The Government of Pakistan has translated “Medemer Generation”, a renowned book authored by Ethiopian Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, into the national language, Urdu — a symbolic gesture reflecting Pakistan’s respect for Ethiopia’s visionary leadership and its growing cultural ties with Africa.

The translation was completed by the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) under the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, following the directions of Federal Minister H.E. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi.

In a ceremony held at the NLPD office in Islamabad, H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of Ethiopia, officially received the Urdu-translated copies from Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General of NLPD.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing literary and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia. Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker expressed profound gratitude to the Federal Minister and Professor Mazhar for their efforts in realizing the translation, terming it a “significant step toward strengthening people-to-people connections and mutual understanding.”

Following the handover, the Ambassador placed the Urdu-translated copy of “Medemer Generation” in the NLPD Library, symbolizing Ethiopia’s philosophy of unity, harmony, and intergenerational collaboration in nation-building. The initiative will allow Pakistani readers to explore the Medemer concept — a call for collective responsibility and togetherness in addressing modern challenges.
