Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan Unveils Starting Lineup for Match Against Sri Lanka

Lahore: Pakistan has unveiled their lineup for the crucial Asia Cup Super-4 clash against Sri Lanka scheduled for Wednesday.

The Pakistani team has introduced five changes. In the upcoming match, Mohammad Haris, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Zaman Khan will replace Fakhar Zaman, Salman Ali Agha, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah.

The revised lineup for Pakistan reads as follows: Mohammad Haris, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Shaheen Afridi, and Zaman Khan.

This game against Sri Lanka is a must-win encounter for Babar Azam and his team, as a victory will secure their spot in the final of the ongoing Asia Cup.

Unfortunately, Pakistan has faced setbacks as three of their players, Salman Ali Agha, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, sustained injuries during the match against India. As a result, Pakistan had to call up Zaman Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani as replacements.

Zaman Khan has already arrived in Colombo and is set to make his international debut in the 50-over format.

On the other hand, Shahnawaz Dahani will depart for Colombo tonight and is expected to join the team tomorrow.

It’s worth noting that the remaining matches of the tournament, including the Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka clash, are likely to be affected by rain. According to The Weather Channel, there is an 86 percent chance of rain impacting the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on September 14 in Colombo.

– September 15: Bangladesh vs. India in Colombo at 2:30 pm (PST)
