A shopping mall fire in Pakistan claims the lives of at least nine individuals

A devastating fire ripped through a shopping mall in Karachi, a major city in southern Pakistan, claiming the lives of at least nine individuals, as reported by officials and local media on Saturday.

According to the local broadcaster, the fire broke out early in the morning at the RJ shopping mall, a multi-storey complex in Pakistan’s densely populated metropolis. The fire brigade managed to rescue approximately 50 people, but there were still more individuals believed to be trapped inside the building.

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui confirmed through a social media post on X platform that at least nine bodies had been taken to nearby hospitals following the tragic fire.
