ISLAMABAD: Panic gripped the PWD area of Islamabad on Thursday when a lion entered a residential house and injured a local resident. The injured was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital by wildlife department teams.
Authorities urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any unusual sightings to avoid further mishaps.
Initial reports suggested that the lion may have escaped from the nearby Lohi Bher Safari Zoo, but park administration strongly rejected the claims. Officials confirmed that all lions were safe inside their enclosures, which are secured with three locks.
“This incident is not linked to our facility. No animal has escaped. The enclosure is fully secured,” the administration clarified.
This is not the first such scare in the capital. In the past, lions were also spotted in Islamabad’s Scheme Three area, raising safety concerns among residents.
The wildlife department assured citizens of strict monitoring, while also urging people not to spread unverified information that could create panic.
