NBP celebrates 78th Independence Day with inspiring performance by Deaf Reach School children
KARACHI – The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a celebration filled with pride, unity, and inclusivity. The event, held at NBP’s headquarters, brought together the bank’s leadership, employees, and their families for a day dedicated to patriotism and reflection.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem and a symbolic cake-cutting. This year’s anthem was made extraordinary by the participation of children from Deaf Reach School, who performed it in sign language — a moving gesture that underlined the spirit of national unity and the importance of inclusion.
NBP President Rehmat Ali Hasnie praised the resilience and determination of the Pakistani people. “Independence Day is a time to honour the courage of our forefathers and renew our commitment to the values they fought for,” he said. He reaffirmed the bank’s mission to support economic growth, promote entrepreneurship, and contribute to sustainable development.
“As a national institution, we aim to strengthen Pakistan’s financial landscape while ensuring opportunities for all,” he added.
The event served as both a celebration of independence and a reminder of the sacrifices made in 1947, reinforcing the shared responsibility to build a stronger, more prosperous Pakistan for future generations.
