Pakistan’s Tayiba Ashraf has made history at the 2025 International Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia, claiming three gold medals in a spectacular performance that coincided with the country’s 78th Independence Day celebrations.
Sharing her joy on Instagram, the champion wrote: “Winning 3 gold medals for Pakistan on our Independence Day is the proudest moment of my life.” She expressed deep gratitude to Allah for granting her the chance to represent the country among over 35 nations.
Tayiba dominated in three events — virtual fight, pair poomsae, and the -49kg fight — showcasing both technical excellence and competitive strength. “These victories are not just mine, they belong to Pakistan,” she said.
She dedicated her triumphs to her homeland and passionate supporters, acknowledging the role of her parents, coaches, and friends in her journey. “I could not have achieved this without their belief in me. My aim now is to take Pakistan’s flag to the Olympics,” she declared.
