Health and Wellness Take Center Stage: National Press Club Collaborates with Panah for Successful Medical Fair in Islamabad

Islamabad: In a collaborative effort between the National Press Club (NPC) and Panah, a comprehensive medical fair was organized at the National Press Club Islamabad, aiming to provide top-tier health facilities to NPC members and their families. Over 20 doctors, led by the esteemed Major General (Retd) Masoodur Rahman Kayani, conducted free health examinations for more than 1,000 journalists and their families, along with members and families of HBA 1C, BSF, BSR.

The medical examinations included a wide array of essential tests such as Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Uric Acid, Protein Creatinine Ratio, Pedography, Foot Doppler, Biothesiometry, BMI, BMD (Bone Mass Density), ECG, 2D Echo, Ultrasound, and Hepatitis B and C screening. Notably, all these tests were provided free of charge, and complimentary medicines were distributed to the patients.

In addition to medical assessments, the event featured practical demonstrations of physical exercise methods and guidance on maintaining a healthy diet. Special guest Abdul Razzaq Sajid, Chairman of Al-Mutaffa Trust, emphasized the commitment to serving humanity, stating that their role in this endeavor will persist. Dr. General (Retd) Masoodur Rahman Kayani, President of Panah, highlighted Panah’s four-decade-long commitment to combating heart diseases and promoting health awareness.

During the closing ceremony, PFUJ President Afzal Butt credited Panah for the successful organization of the medical fair. He acknowledged Dr. Col. (Retd) Shakeel Mirza’s pivotal role in revitalizing Panah and praised their efforts not only in organizing medical camps but also in advocating for increased tobacco taxes to safeguard youth from smoking.

The event concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to special guests, including Chairman Al-Mustafa Trust Abdul Razzaq Sajid, PFUJ President Afzal Butt, NPC President Anwar Raza, and collaborating institutions such as Nabi Qasim, Hilton, Varic, Shaheen Health Plus, and Pharmao. Certificates were also awarded to doctors, administration, and participants, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the success of the medical fair. NPC Finance Secretary Nayar Ali, RIUJ President Abid Abbasi, General Secretary Tariq Ali Wark, and others were among those honored for their dedication to the health and well-being of the journalist community in Pakistan.
