Renowned Educationist and Social Leader, Chairperson of KZK Foundation, Mrs. Khadija Zareen Khan Declares International Day Against Oppression on December 11, 2023

Islamabad (Special Representative): On December 11, 2023, Mrs. Khadija Zareen Khan, a distinguished educationist and social leader, and the Chairperson of KZK Foundation, declared the International Day Against Oppression. In a statement, Mrs. Khan expressed concern over the actions of the extremist Modi-led BJP government in India and strongly condemned the Supreme Court of India’s decision to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A, equating it with the violation of constitutional, legal, and human rights of the people of Kashmir.

Mrs. Khan stated that the Modi government’s decision to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its special status and downgrade it to a Union Territory goes against the principles of justice and equality. The Supreme Court of India, aligning with the desires of the Modi government, has directed elections in Jammu and Kashmir as a union territory instead of recognizing it as a separate state, contrary to the aspirations and rights of the majority of Kashmiris.

She highlighted that during Modi’s tenure, the Indian Supreme Court has undergone a transformation and emphasized that the seven million people of Jammu and Kashmir will never accept being an abnormal part of India. The Kashmiris have lost faith in the Indian Supreme Court, and they will continue their struggle for freedom. Mrs. Khan appealed to international organizations for human rights and justice to take notice of this injustice, urging them to challenge the abrogation of Kashmir’s special status in international courts. She particularly called on Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions to elevate the case of the revocation of Kashmir’s special status to the international court and ensure that India faces defeat in its unjust endeavors.

This declaration by Mrs. Khadija Zareen Khan aims to draw global attention to the plight of the people of Kashmir and to seek support from the international community in challenging the unilateral and illegal actions taken by India. The International Day Against Oppression serves as a platform for raising awareness and promoting solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their struggle for justice and self-determination.
